I LIVE IN AN APARTMENT AND DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO TREES. CAN I STILL USE A HAMMOCK?
Absolutely. Hammocks can be used just about anywhere you can find two sturdy posts or connection points. For those who wish to use their hammock at their home or apartment, balconies are a good option. Another option is to purchase two eye bolts, place them in opposite sides of a room, and you can then hammock inside your home. Naturally, precaution must be taken to ensure that bolts are placed within studs of the walls, and the studs are strong enough to hold the weight. Lastly, another option is to purchase a hammock stand. You can either make your own through materials at your local hardware store, or you can purchase a hammock stand from a retailer.
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM LENGTH REQUIREMENT AND MAXIMUM LENGTH ALLOWED BETWEEN TWO POSTS FOR A SOCO HAMMOCK?
10 feet is the minimum length requirement. Basic straps are 6ft each and allow you to hammock up to 19 feet apart. Our 10 ft and 12 ft straps will give you between 28 - 32 feet to hang your hammock.
CAN I LEAVE MY HAMMOCK OUT IN THE SUN?
You can use your hammock outside, but we encourage you to not leave it out in direct sunlight when you are not using it. Direct sunlight slowly loosens the bindings of the parachute nylon material of the hammock, fading its color and weakening the strength of the nylon fabric. The wear and tear on the hammocks increases significantly for owners who leave their hammock out in the sun for extended periods of time (days to weeks).
DOES MAGIC REALLY EXIST?
ARE SOCO HAMMOCKS WATERPROOF?
SOCO Hammocks are not waterproof for good reason. SOCO Hammocks are designed for maximum breathability so if there is a breeze you can feel it through the hammock. Waterproof materials do not breath well and do not provide the soft comfort you want in a hammock. If you want rain protection your best option is going to be placing a tarp over a line stretched across the top of the hammock.
HOW DO I CLEAN MY HAMMOCK?
You may clean your hammock only after you have disassembled the hammock terminations (buckles and straps that hold the hammock ends together). You may wash it in a washing machine on a light setting but it is recommended that you hand wash. Once you have washed and dried your hammock, assemble the terminations back onto your hammock and get to relaxing again!
HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL I GET MY HAMMOCK AFTER I HAVE ORDERED IT ONLINE?
On average, hammocks are delivered to the address provided by the customer within 3-5 business days. We ship USPS Priority mail when possible.
